Store Complaints

The Toys R Us website closed in February of this year, followed by all of the UK stores by the end of April. If you had a complaint about Toys R Us from this time, you should have reported it while the website or stores were still operating. All their remaining stock was sold off, so you can’t ask Toys R Us about selling or donating leftover products now. Any fittings inside Toys R Us stores are the property of the landlords. If you still want to make complaints regarding a Toys R Us store, then call 0843 178 5914 to report these problems.

Customer Complaints

As mentioned, all Toys R Us stores in the UK were shut in April 2018. This means that you can no longer buy or return Toys R Us products. Gift cards and e-gift cards are no longer valid or transferable. If you did not spend a gift card before the deadline on 11th March 2018, you are now a Toys R Us creditor. Call 0843 178 5915 if you still want to complain about a customer experience or a product. It is likely that they will only direct you to the manufacturer if you’re calling about specifications or warranties for Toys R Us products.

Team Member Complaints

Unfortunately, all Toys R Us team members will have been made redundant by the store closures. Team members who had been in continuous employment at Toys R Us for two years can contact the UK government to claim statutory redundancy pay. Everyone should have been paid for all their completed contracted work hours. Call 0843 178 5916 if you did not receive the full wages that Toys R Us owes to you. Complain about missing holiday pay, commission, bonuses, your employee pension, or lack of redundancy support if it applies.

Supplier Complaints

Suppliers of goods and services to Toys R Us should have settled their orders with Toys R Us when it closed. After this, any deliveries should be according to remaining purchase orders on the authorization of the administrators. If you are a trader needing to settle an invoice for outstanding balances, call 0843 178 5917. Complain about purchase orders or invoices and find out how to make a claim as a trade creditor. Even if you make a complaint or claim, it is unfortunately not very likely that suppliers will receive any old payments now.

Creditor Complaints

Toys R Us had a Take Time to Pay scheme for customers which they suspended in March. Under the scheme, you could pre-order a product and then pick it up from a store after making part payments over a period of 4, 8, or 12 weeks. Customers became creditors if they did not receive their product before the stores closed. You are also a creditor if your product from Toys R Us is defective. You can try contacting the manufacturer first to see if they will take responsibility for this. If Toys R Us owes you, call 0843 178 5918 to complain.

Administration Complaints

Obviously, it is a little too late to complain about Toys R Us going into administration and shutting down. Complaints won’t undo anything, as the company’s debts were too large. If you would still like to complain about the administration process or the steps taken by the administrators, then call 0843 178 5919. If you have any queries about the administration, you can also ask them. The administrators can advise you about the CVA and insolvency procedures. Remember that they are not responsible for the previous actions of Toys R Us.
