In recent years (2015) Orange has merged with T-mobile to create new mobile network EE, a joint venture that so far has been extremely successful and is in fact the UK’s largest mobile network operator. Although the joint venture has been in place for a while, you can still remain as an Orange customer. Previous and existing orange customers also have the option to upgrade to an EE tariff if they prefer. if you would like to upgrade your phone and contract and you are on Orange at the minute, you will automatically be switched to EE. If you keep your phone and tariff the same, you will remain on the Orange Uk network.
