Openreach Complaints

Contact Openreach to complain by calling their number. Please do not call them if your complaint is relating to your phone or broadband service provider. You should contact the provider directly to arrange appointments or report issues. They will contact Openreach on your behalf. Since your contract is with the provider and not with Openreach, they do not have access to your customer details. However, you can call Openreach to complain about Openreach vans driving or parking. You can complain about an engineer’s poor behaviour.

New Build Home Complaints

If you are living in a new build home and you experience phone or broadband problems, then contact your developer if they are still working on site. They may not have finished installing the equipment. Or if you have not been able to order from a communications provider, call Openreach. You can also fill out an online form to get help with this. If you are a developer working on a new build home, call this number to complain about problems with registering, New Site Identifiers, ordering supplies, or something else.

Network Alteration Complaints

Contact the Infrastructure Solutions team if you have a complaint about Openreach equipment. If you would like Openreach to relocate or remove parts of their network, contact them to discuss this. All such alteration works are chargeable. Get help with installations, extensions, or removals. You might need a wayleave to allow Openreach to work on private property. You can complain about street cabinet installations and object to their location. Complain if engineers have left a mess behind after working in the street.

Fibre Broadband Complaints

The rollout of faster fibre broadband has been slower than promised. Call if you want to complain about the lack of availability. Check the availability in your area and learn more information about the rollout. Openreach can point you to suppliers if fibre is available. They can also advise you on community fibre partnerships. This involves local communities left out of the rollout funding fibre broadband development for themselves. Call to complain about delays and other problems with local fibre broadband installation.

Damage Complaints

Call to complain about damaged Openreach equipment or damage they’ve done to your property. Complain if recent works on your property have caused damage. If you spot unsafe Openreach equipment outside your property which could be a hazard to the public, call to complain about this. Use this guide to make sure it is actually Openreach equipment before you call. Report loose or dangling cables on telephone poles, leaning or fallen poles, damaged or missing manhole covers, and opened doors on green cabinets.

Criminal Activity Complaints

If you see somebody vandalizing Openreach equipment, don’t intervene but report it to the police. Inform Openreach by calling if you see graffiti or purposefully broken external equipment. High copper prices result in the theft of valuable copper cables from the network. If you see anything like this, report it to Crimestoppers and report the damage to Openreach. Openreach will never ask you for your bank details, so report these scams to Action Fraud. Contact your provider if an engineer is unexpectedly knocking at your door.
