Megabus UK

0843 178 4073

International transport group Stagecoach launched its Megabus service in the UK in 2003, before expanding within the USA in 2006. Megabus sold its European operations to FlixBus in 2016, including services linking London with Europe. In the UK, Megabus offers low-cost travel from just £1 per ticket (not including a 50p booking fee). Megabus transports more than 5 million passengers per year between 90 linked locations across the UK.

With onboard bus facilities including free wifi and power sockets, Megabus UK aims to provide high-quality transport. Through the East Midlands Trains network, Megabus UK also operates Megatrain. For journeys between Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and London, passengers can use Megabusplus to travel by bus and train on one ticket.

Customer Services

For general queries about Megabus UK services, you can contact customer services on 0843 178 4073. Call to ask about timetables for arrivals and departures, discounts for children and students, or luggage allowances. Unfortunately, there are no senior discounts with Megabus except in Scotland. If you need to change your booking, call up to 24 hours ahead of the departure time. This will cost you an additional fee of £2.50 (only £1.50 if you change the booking yourself online). You can also call with any complaints about your experience using Megabus, such as damaged luggage.

Telephone Bookings

Journeycall Ltd operates a booking service between 7am and 10pm every day, which can be reached on 0843 178 4074. Except on some services in Scotland and London, tickets cannot be bought on the bus so must be purchased in advance. Megabus UK is usually a ticketless service, providing only a reservation number which you will need to keep. To reserve a place on a journey, you’ll need a valid debit or credit card to pay over the phone. All payments done this way will be taken in GBP currency.

Travel Assistance

If you have a disability which requires physical accommodation, please contact Megabus UK on 0843 178 4075 before you book your tickets. If you use a wheelchair but can climb the steps onto the bus, the driver will help you sit and store your wheelchair in the luggage hold. Otherwise, you need to call this number to make a reservation at least 36 hours before your journey. This allows Megabus UK to ensure you can be accommodated on the specific bus journey. You can also call to book the use of the Mobility Lounge at London Victoria coach station before your departing journey.

Service Alerts

Sometimes services can change at short notice, depending on the weather or road engineering works. On the day of your journey with Megabus UK, call 0843 178 4076, especially in the case of adverse weather. This will enable you to get the latest updates on whether your service is running as normal, delayed, or cancelled. If your journey gets cancelled, Megabus UK will do its best to help you rebook on another service.

Airport Travel

Taking a coach to the airport can be a much cheaper option than the train. Megabus runs services to these seven airports across the UK: Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol, London Heathrow, and London Gatwick. As this is limited, call 0843 178 4077 to find the nearest location to you which the airport service runs from. Megabus UK can also direct you to online city guides for your travel destination.

Stagecoach Careers

Stagecoach Group offers careers across all of its services. These include Stagecoach buses and Supertrams, Megabus and Megatrain, East Midlands Trains, Virgin Trains, as well as services in North America. The regional companies usually manage their own recruitment, so call 0843b178 4078 to find out how to get in touch. You can register your interest in a career with the individual business and learn more about any vacancies, apprenticeships and graduate schemes.
