In-store Complaints

You may want to make a complaint about an in-store experience you have had for many reasons such as the customer service you have received, you want to complain about a product you have bought, you want to complain about the conditions in your local store, you have been overcharged for an item, you don’t believe your food was up to the standard you paid for or you want to complain about the service you received in one of the Marks and Spencer restaurants. If you have experienced something you would like to complain about in-store, you can speak to a manager there and then and your situation will be dealt with accordingly or if you would like to take the complaint further as you may feel it has not been resolved properly, your next step would be to call and explain exactly what happened. Usually, a complaint will then be resolved and the customer compensated, but if you still don’t feel as if you have been helped, you can ask to be referred to an advisor who will make sure your complaint will be looked into further.

However, If you have ordered something online and are not happy with it, you can easily return it via four different methods which are: Collect Plus, Royal Mail, Inpost Locker, or return directly to store. These are usually free and a refund will be issued provided the item is in the same condition as when it was delivered. Exclusions occur for large items such as pieces of furniture where a collection will have to be arranged by the M&S team at your own cost of £50. If you would like to know where your nearest Collect+ location is, you can use the M&S website to track this or call.
