Christmas is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail, when they deliver over 100 million parcels each year in December alone. If you will be sending cards or gift packages to your loved ones in the mail this festive season, then you need to make sure that you send them in enough time to arrive by Christmas. Christmas Last Posting Dates for UK Delivery

For domestic deliveries using inland services, you can leave your Christmas shopping a bit later. You should post your cards and parcels at least a week before Christmas Day if you want the recipient to be able to open them on the day. Christmas is on a Wednesday this year, and 1st Class Christmas post needs to be sent by the Friday before to arrive in time.

Unfortunately, the last posting dates for International Economy mail have already passed. If you send a letter or parcel abroad by Economy post now, it is not likely to arrive in time for Christmas. Last Posting Dates for Letters to Father Christmas

All children have until Friday 6th December to write and send a letter to Santa Claus with their Christmas wishes. These letters do not require stamps, because Royal Mail will deliver them for free. If your child wants to receive a letter from Santa, make sure that they include their full name and address. Write Santa’s address on the envelope and pop it in a postbox.
