Cunard is a cruise line of Anglo-American heritage that is based in Southampton. It is owned by Carnival & Corporation plc and in 2015 it celebrated 175 years of operation. The brand was very first established in 1879 when it was recognised as the Cunard Steamship Company and by the Second World War it was the largest Atlantic passenger line. Today, it is still a major cruise line. Cunard commemorated 175 years in May 2015 when three ocean liners sailed up the Mersey and into Liverpool which involved ship manoeuvres and red arrows performing fly-pasts.
