Autoglass Complaints

Contact Autoglass by calling them to complain about them. They promise to treat customers fairly and to assign a dedicated expert to handle every complaint. They only have a single step complaints process. This means that there is no escalating through various levels of management. Autoglass will provide one response, which will be their final decision. If it takes longer than 8 weeks, or you are still not happy, you can then contact the Financial Ombudsman Service to get an independent review of your Autoglass complaint.

Autoglass Complaints Procedure

When you contact Autoglass to make a complaint they aim to treat you fairly and have an expert take responsibility of your complaint and ensure that they do everything they can to resolve it to the standard you expect. When you phone them to make your complaint they’ll do their best to resolve the complaint when you call, however, they might not always be able to do this. If they can’t, they’ll get back to you at a later time with their response.

If you’re not happy in any way with the response given to you from Autoglass, you can then take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The independent service will give a review of your case and share their findings with you.

Appointment Complaints

To book an appointment you need to provide your vehicle registration number, surname, postcode, and details of the damage. They will give you the soonest available appointment which should take 30-60 minutes. Their mobile repair and replacement service means that Autoglass can come to you. Call to complain if your technician is late for the appointment or does not show up. Complain if you are unable to change your appointment or if you don’t receive messages about it. Or complain if they do not clean up broken glass.

Insurance Claim Complaints

If your vehicle insurance covers glass damage, you can make a claim through Autoglass. You don’t even need to contact the insurer first, because Autoglass will deal directly with them. All you need is your surname and postcode, so you don’t have to hunt around for paperwork. A glass repair claim should not affect your No Claims Bonus or increase your premium. Call to complain if this does happen after claiming via Autoglass. Complain if Autoglass are responsible for miscommunications with the insurance provider.

Cost & Payment Complaints

Attempting repairs before replacement makes Autoglass more affordable and saves time. The cost of the work depends on whether it is a repair or replacement, and if your vehicle insurance policy covers glass damage. Autoglass usually collects payments from you on behalf of your insurance provider. Due to high service demands, Autoglass cannot do the work for you if your insurance doesn’t cover glass damage. Call to complain if there is an issue with your excess payment, or if Autoglass wrongfully declines to repair.

Repair Guarantee Complaints

Autoglass offers a “lifetime guarantee” on their glasswork, meaning as long as you have the vehicle. Their replacement glass is always to the same standard as the original glass. Their technicians are all highly trained to assure high-quality workmanship. However, the lifetime guarantee does not include ADAS Calibration. They only guarantee their windscreen wiper replacements for 12 months. If chips turn into cracks during repairs, then you will have to pay for a full windscreen replacement. Call if you are unhappy with repairs.

ADAS Calibration Complaints

Technological advancement means that many cars have smart features to help the driver operate the vehicle. These are known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Examples include collision detection, rear-view cameras, or adaptive high beams. Windscreen and window replacements can disrupt the cameras and sensors for these systems. This is why Autoglass offers ADAS Calibrations as well, to make sure your systems still operate to the manufacturer’s standards. Call to complain about miscalibrated systems.
